Words have so much power in our lives. They can make us laugh or cry; they can spur us to action or encourage us to stop and think. Words can help us sort out our problems or teach us how to build something useful. With words, we can tell a story that needs telling. Where would we be without words?
Many parents tell us that their children are reluctant writers; they don't know what to write, or how to start, or how to organize their ideas. We tell them that writing is like carpentry: anyone can do it, and do it well, with the proper training and the right tools for the job.
"Deb has a way of being encouraging, sharing her enthusiasm, and maintaining very high standards at the same time. She has a patient manner and does an excellent job of explaining writing techniques in a way that allows students to see how to improve their own writing."

"Deb's teaching style enabled our son to dramatically improve his writing skills and, most importantly, build his self confidence. Deb focused on Nick's individual needs and then targeted those areas in each lesson."
