Creative Writing Workshop s
On this guided tour through the golden hills and vineyards, medieval towns and renowned art museums of Tuscany, the writer will find much inspiration. Discover the charm and personality of this beautiful region of Italy through the writing process. Professional writer and teacher Deborah McKew will conduct the writing workshops. The format will include writing exercises and assignments related to the itinerary, lessons on craft and group responses. All materials will be provided. Digital camera recommended. For more details about the sessions call 603-724-3609.
Plein Air Drawing and Photo Workshop
American Impressionist Heidi Coutu will conduct drawing sessions in the open air of Tuscany to capture the essence of a landscape or outdoor still life where the light is constantly changing. The drawings will be augmented with photographs, which will then be worked into paintings during a two-day workshop in her Springfield, Massachusetts Studio. Coutu's painting instruction will focus on the broad application of paint and creating light in one's work (oil or acrylic). In Tuscany, students are encouraged to immerse themselves in the creative experience by interacting with the writing students. Materials for Tuscan trip will be provided. Digital camera necessary. For more details on the session call 413-222-0878. To view Coutu's work visit www.Heidicoutu.net.
Welcome to Villa Marsili
During our stay in Tuscany, Villa Marsili located in the medieval town of Cortona will be our home base. The Villa, considered one of Cortona's most elegant residences, is situated within the city's ancient walls and retains all the grace and charm of its original architectural structure. Spacious rooms, luxurious lounges and outdoor courtyards overlook the stunning landscapes of Valdichiana (the Chianti vineyard region), with views of the Amiata and Cetona mountains, as well as Trasimeno Lake. www.villamarsili.net
